Central Team assesses hailstorm damages in Manipur

A central Ministerial team on Monday inspected the areas in Kakching and Thoubal districts of Manipur damaged by the recent heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstorm which ravaged the state on May 5.

A central Ministerial team on Monday inspected the areas in Kakching and Thoubal districts of Manipur damaged by the recent heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstorm which ravaged the state on May 5.

The four-member team includes Badal Bishwakarma of Animal Husbandry Department, Jintu Das of Department of Agriculture and Family Welfare (DA&FW) and Shivcharan Meena of Nit Ayog.

The team, upon reaching Thoubal District Headquarters, held a meeting with the deputy commissioners of the two districts at the conference hall and examined the reports including the report of the enquiry conducted by the relevant Department. ADM, Thoubal B Lokeswor Sharma and various district level officers were also present at the meet.

Later the central ministerial team inspected the hailstorm affected areas of Thoubal district. The team also met with Kakching DC Rohit Anand and district level officers at Kakching DC conference hall. They further visited the areas affected by the heavy rain and hailstorm in the district.
