A one-day career guidance programme jointly organised by Manipur State Commission for Schedule Tribes (MSCST) and Longmai Students’ Union (LSU) was held at Multipurpose Hall Longmai-3 under Noney district headquarters on Friday.
During the programme, chairperson, MSCST Thuigai Mathieu Rongmei, ADM/ADC Noney district Stiff Khapudang, ZEO Noney district Xavier Longmei, president, Longmai Area Private School Association (LAPSA) Disinrei Kamson, chairman Longmai Village Authority Kasaigai Gangmei, and general secretary RBCC Longmai Zone Rokungliu Panmei attended the event as a special dignitaries.
“The state of Manipur needs emotional integration with various communities living together as the only means to bring peace. Connecting people to people with Mutual respect and striving for long lasting conflict resolution is vital,” Thuigai Mathieu Rongmei mentioned in his speech during the event.
“We need a close bond as was done in the past. The present conflict between Meitei and Kuki can be resolved only through emotional bonding, mutual respect and understanding,” he added.
Executive director NesDI-RNBA Dimgong Rongmei and Psycho-Social Counsellor Chingkhiujikliu Kamei attended the event as a resource.person.
During the programme, Dimgong Rongmei talked about Human Resources and asserted the need to promote Natural Resources surrounding the area.
Chingkhiujikliu Kamei emphasised on discovering different potentials, choosing a career based on one’s interest, aptitude and personality.
The event was attended by 700 plus students from different high schools and Hr Sec schools across the district headquarters.
