Campfire marks end of New Year celebration at Kangpokpi Christian Church

Kangpokpi Christian Church pastor said that the bonfire is organised annually after the new year celebration while urging the youth to forgive and forget past mistakes and move forward

A campfire and a one-day sports event marked the end of the New Year celebration at Kangpokpi Christian Church, Kangpokpi town.

Men's football, men's and women's volleyball, and other activities were held during the one-day sports event to promote the unity of the church members and build a stronger bond among them.

Later in the evening, the church members lit a bonfire at the church campus to mark the end of its New Year celebration and to symbolise the burning of all the past mistakes, wrongdoings, etc of the previous year. The bonfire also signified the promotion of a better life in the present year.

The campfire was organised by Kangpokpi Christian Khangthahte (KCK) and was participated by numerous youths of the church and others. Former KCK leaders were honoured.

The participants in the bonfire also engaged themselves in cleaning and tidying up the church campus and taking down the decorations of the celebration while marking the event with a hearty campfire feast.

The Pastor said that the bonfire is organised annually after the new year celebration while urging the youth to forgive and forget past mistakes and move forward with an innovative approach to glorify the name of Jesus Christ throughout the year. He also extended wishes for a prosperous new year to all denizens of Kangpokpi and the state. Kangpokpi Christian Church is the largest church in terms of members and size of the church.
