As a part of ‘War on drug 2.0’, a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) on Saturday seized 1 (One) kg of brown sugar from a couple and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Doukhojam Touthang, 62, son of Doujang Touthang and his wife Thinneng alias Neneng, 41, of Molkon Bazar, both from Kangpokpi District.
Police reported that they were detained during random frisking and checking at Ekou area, Imphal East at around 1:30 PM on Saturday. During examination, a kilo of brown sugar and a two-wheeler, red in colour were seized from their possession.
A case has been registered at NAB police station for further investigation and during preliminary investigation they revealed some linkages for which further investigation is being carried out.
