Fortunately, the grenade failed to explode and there were no casualties in the attack which took place at the compound of one Khaidem Yamba, 53, son of (L) Kh Birchandra from the said locality.

According to police, Kh Yamba is a nominee of CAF & PD, and he has received monetary demands from as many as four UG groups.

The bomb was collected by a team of State Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad around 11.45 am and safely disposed of at Awa Ching, which falls under Nongmaijing Ching range, around 12.19 pm.
