Blankets distributed at relief camps in Imphal West

Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal commenced its Winter Relief Services on Sunday, with the distribution of blankets to the inmates staying at the relief camp opened at Mayang Imphal.

Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal commenced its Winter Relief Services on Sunday, with the distribution of blankets to the inmates staying at the relief camp opened at Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), Charoibung, Mayang Imphal, Imphal West.

The activity was carried out considering the plights of the inmates at the camp with the onset of winter season, stated a release. Altogether 120 blankets were provided to the inmates along with food supplies and toiletries, the mission said in a release.

Ramakrishna Mission is also extending assistance to the displaced students in the camps by regularly providing stationery and nutritious food supplements, it mentioned.

The mission has distributed relief materials including food and clothing to over 120 relief camps in 5 districts namely Bishnupur, Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal, it mentioned.

The mission is also making efforts to provide assistance to the affected victims of the conflict, especially children and nursing/expectant mothers, and added that it will distribute 10 thousand blankets to the inmates at the relief camps, the release said.

Menstrual hygiene awareness held at relief camps


IMPHAL: Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal in collaboration with Mogra Eco Trust, Delhi conducted a joint project on female hygiene (during menstruation) on the theme ‘Awareness & Distribution of Menstrual cups at Relief Camps’ on Thursday and Friday.

The programme was conducted at 5 different relief camps namely Chingmeirong, Wangkhei, Akampat, Hiyangthang and Manipur College Relief Camps, stated a release. Lectures on awareness of Menstrual Hygiene were conducted and menstrual cups were distributed to 500 women inmates of the relief camps, it stated.

During the event, leader of Mogra Eco Trust, Delhi, Shivani Chopra stressed the method and benefits of using a menstrual cup, it mentioned.

The programme was attended by MLA Thangjam Arun, president of Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, Gopal Khetrimayum and members of the club, it added.
