BJP Tamenglong district president M Daniel on Tuesday extended condolences on the demise of former president of Zeliangrong Union (ZU) Amu Kamei who passed away at Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Imphal on Tuesday.
“I was in complete shock to hear the news of such irreparable loss for the Zeliangrong people, Nagas and people of Manipur,” he said.
The late leader was greatly respected with immense admiration due to his ability to speak out and demonstrate boldly in all matters that saved many perilous situations and lives, Daniel said.
He said late Amu Kamei was native of Longmai (Noney) district, Manipur and contested the Manipur Assembly elections on Janata Dal tickets in 1990-1995 from 2 A/Cs Saitu and 54-Nungba Legislative assembly constituencies.
He also held the post of president, Rongmei Naga People Organisation (RNPO), he added.
