The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Wednesday alleged that the BJP government caused havoc, unrest and anxiety among the youths of the state.
Although the BJP government talks and speaks about various schemes for the well-being of the youths, women and children, none of the schemes were successfully implemented in the state, said general secretary (org) L Tilotama Devi while speaking to the media at the office of MPCC in Imphal.
Pointing out that most of the major developmental projects in Manipur such as establishment of a Sport University were taken up during the Congress rule in Manipur, she said, "It is indeed unfortunate that the BJP government takes the credit for those development projects."
What the BJP delivered to the public is only suffering, she said, citing the failure in managing the Covid pandemic, monetisation pipeline, increasing unemployment rate and others.
Reacting to the recent speech of BJP state president A Sharda in which she accused MPCC president N Loken as a "confused leader who called the youths of Manipur as insane", she said such misinterpretation is the nature of BJP.
The MPPC president never called the youths as insane, she said, explaining that Loken only said that the educated youths are in an unrest state due to not getting job opportunities.
The general secretary appealed to the public to stay away and alert from the false promises and misinterpretation made by the BJP. If the BJP continues its rule, the society will be in peril, she added.
