The BJP 37-Kakching Mandal Yuva Morcha and Mahila Mandal in Manipur have jointly demanded the parliamentary board of BJP not to give party ticket to former MLA Y Surchandra at any cost.
During a press conference held at the Manipur Press Club on Monday, executive member of the said Yuva Morcha, Naorem Manish alleged that former MLA Y Surchandra is involved in a pending criminal case and even has record of being a corrupt leader.
Besides this, he does not have any self-discipline and as such, they consider him unqualified to contest election as BJP candidate for Kakching constituency in the upcoming election.
The Morcha and Mandal will not accept nor support Surchandra if the parliamentary board gives him party ticket, he informed while appealing to Surchandra to stop spreading propaganda about his getting BJP ticket without fail.
"Being a BJP member, he is most welcomed but we won’t accepted as a BJP candidate of the constituency," Naorem Manish said.
He also said that no development was brought during his tenure when he was representative of Kakching from Congress party for three terms.
Protests are being conducted in various places of Kakching urging the parliamentary board of the BJP not to give Surchandra a party ticket and they should understand the sentiment of Kakching BJP workers, he said.
