Bishwamitra’s ‘Dry Tears’ screened

Khwairakpam Bishwamitra stated that acquiring funds for film production is an issue in Manipur.

The screening cum discourse of Khwairakpam Bishwamitra’s film ‘Dry Tears’ was held at state’s legendary Rupmahal Theatre, Imphal on Saturday.

The film has been produced by Millennium Force, Manipur.

Briefing the media after the film, director Bishwamitra stated that acquiring funds for film production is an issue in Manipur.

He stated that films in Manipur made little profit to even recuperate cost of production but filmmakers still made world class films for the love of the artform.

“Qualified professionals for big budget productions are rare but still filmmakers are finding alternative film styles such as short films to keep the tradition alive,” he said.

Art and Culture commissioner M Joy Singh and president of All Manipur Critic Forum Manipur AC Netrajit among others were present at the event.
