Bishnupur DC appealed to all to avoid littering along National Highway 2 and to volunteer in the mass cleanliness drive regarding the upcoming G20 summit meeting to be held in Manipur on February 17 and 18.
A statement by Bishnupur DC Lourembam Bikram stated that in view of the upcoming G20 Summit meeting to be held in Manipur on February 17 and 18, the district administration and district police of Bishnupur in coordination with the officials of seven Municipal councils, locals clubs and CSOs have been undertaking cleanliness drive along the NH 2 (Tiddim road).
The team have been conducting the cleanliness drive along the entire stretch of NH 2 including Chanura Bazaar, Utlou Kakwa Bazaar and other important routes through which the delegates would be passing during their entourage in Bishnupur district, it continued.
In this regard, the Bishnupur district administration appealed to the people of the state and the district in particular, to avoid littering and pilling of the garbage along the stretch of NH 2, nearby paddy fields and playgrounds, it added. It also requested the people of the Bishnupur district to voluntarily participate in the mass cleanliness drive.
