Bijli Mahotsav, Ujala Diwas celebrated in Moreh

The Bijli Mahotsav, Ujala Diwas celebration will continue in the village of Wabaching ( Machi Block) in the district on Tuesday.

The Tengnoupal district administration celebrated ‘Ngallaba India – Nganduna Leiragadaba Punshigi @ 2047, Bijli Mahotsav and Ujala Diwas’ at Gamnom Veng, Moreh, Manipur on Monday.

The Union Power Ministry and Renewable Energy Ministry celebrates ‘Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya- Power capital 2047 and initiative of the Central government under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) from July 25 - 30  across the nation in association with power CPSEs and State DISCOMs.

As celebrated all over the country, the border town of the state popularly known as ‘Moreh’ also celebrates ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ and ‘Ujala Diwas. Addressing the crowd, DC Mannuamching highlighted the importance of electricity.

She said, “It has become one of the basic necessities in our lives since we need it to perform our duties to earn our livelihood and in our daily personal lives such as cooking, washing or even cooling from heat by using electric fans and air conditioners especially in the border town.”  She stressed on the importance of conserving electricity even though it can be generated through wind, solar, hydro or thermal.

As a part of the celebration, cultural troupes performed traditional dance and dignitaries and high ranking officers of the district also participated in the celebration.

It is worth mentioning that the celebration will continue in the village of Wabaching ( Machi Block) in the district on Tuesday.
