Becoming the Change: 51st NSUB Freshers’ Meet 2022 celebration on September 17

The 51st Naga Students’ Union Bangalore Annual Freshers-cum-Nagas’ Meet 2022 will be celebrated at the India Campus Crusade for Christ, St Thomas Town, Bangalore. It will feature cultural performances by several Naga artistes.

After a gap of two years owing to the pandemic, the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) will be organising its 51st Annual Freshers-cum-Nagas’ Meet 2022 with an aim to bring all the Nagas in the city together alongside welcoming the freshers to the city under the theme “Becoming the Change”. 

NSUB had completed its 50 years of existence in 2019 and presently affiliates 14 subunits and all these units will be coming together for the celebration. The subunits have successfully organised their respective annual freshers meet over the past two months and the turnups were better compared to the past years, Ruth Gonmei, General Secretary, NSUB said in a press release.

The event will be held on September 17, 2022 from 12 noon at the India Campus Crusade for Christ, St. Thomas Town, Bangalore.

Annual Freshers-cum-Nagas’ Meet 2022 Highlights

The event focuses on showcasing varied folk songs and dances of different Naga tribes and will feature various Naga artistes.

In the session there will also be crowning of Mr and Miss Freshers from among the 14 tribes for which 28 participants will be contesting and will be judged by Songashim Rungsung (Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21), Gloria Tep (Former India’s Next Top Model runners up) and Vijay Joseph Kapanee (Asst. Vice President and Head of Financial Analytics, MAYBANK).

The event will be graced by Bendang Yanger (Executive Director, BR Innovations Pvt Ltd & Proprietor, BNS Enterprises) as Chief Guest and Vijay Joseph Kapanee and Neite Kapfo (Sr Manager – HR Operations, HCL Technologies) as the Guests of Honor.

The event is sponsored and co-sponsored by YELLOWBERRY (School of Digital Arts), Cute Mate Academy (Hair and Make-up Academy), Hm Artistic Flo (flowers and decors) and Maven Kitchen (an authentic Naga and Manipuri cuisine restaurant.
