Bar Council of Manipur has appointed Retired Deputy Registrar (Accounts & Planning) of the High Court of Manipur, Manoharmayum Basantakumar Sharma as the new secretary of the council.

A notification issued by Bar Council of Manipur Chairman, S Brajabihari Singh on April 8, stated that the development was taken pursuant to resolution No 3 of the council’s meeting held on April 5.

He is appointed on negotiable consolidated pay from time to time until further orders with effect from the date of the joining, it stated.
