A district-level awareness programme themed ‘Child Rights and Teacher Stress’ was organised by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights at Liwa Changning High School, Chandel district on Thursday.
The programme was attended by ZEO Chandel/Tengnoupal Hemchand Yumnam, Liwa Changning High School Komlathabi headmistress Sheipham Royel Moyon, CWC Tengnoupal member Darngam Khaling and MCPCR member Kh Jitendra.
Kh Jitendra spoke on the topic ‘Child Rights’ while clinical psychologist LK Kalpana who is also a research scholar at Sikkim University spoke on the management of tensions and stress faced by the teachers in the classroom.
It can be mentioned that a similar awareness programme for Thoubal and Kakching districts was conducted at Khangabok Higher Secondary School on Wednesday. It was attended by Khangabok Higher Secondary School principal Th Radhamani, CWC Thoubal chairperson L Romen Meitei and MCPCR member Kh Jitendra.
Speakers of the programme spoke on the role of teachers in society. They mentioned that teachers are human engineers, stressing on the importance of a stress-free teaching environment.
