In a bid to ensure employment and educational opportunities to the displaced victims and students of the conflict, a mass job and education awareness programme led by Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar under Seva Bharati was conducted in various relief camps at Kakching Assembly constituency on Saturday.
The MLA along with Seva Bharati Volunteer coordinator, retired Lieutenant General Nishikant and Seva Bharati Manipur’s Pushparaj visited the relief camps raising awareness and encouraging the inmates to generate their incomes by making incense sticks and candles. The team also gave resourceful insights on availing free education at JSS Mahishur under Seva Bharati.
During the event held at Kaliyan Asharam, MLA Rameshwar noted the plights facing the inmates staying at the relief camps and their yearning to go back to their original homes.
He asserted that MLAs of four constituencies of Kakching district had already investigated the ground situation at Sugnu and Serou and examined possible ways for the inmates to return back and settle.
He said that most of the areas in Serou Sugnu are safe and added that the government is making all out efforts to ensure the inmates can go back and settle at their own lands without further delay. The MLA further urged the inmates at the relief camps to avail the benefits of the awareness programme held under Seva Bharati.
