Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp in collaboration with ECHS Polyclinic and Bethesda Khankho Foundation, a local NGO at Tuiringphaisen village in Churachandpur district on Saturday.
The medical camp was organised by Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), as a part of its unstinted efforts to reach out to the local populace with limited access to essential healthcare facilities during the ongoing crisis in Manipur, the IGAR(S) said in a press release.
The Assam Rifles medical staff and a team of nurses and para medical staff from the medical fraternity of ECHS Polyclinic examined a total of 257 people from the vicinity of Tuiringphaisen village.
Senior citizens, pregnant, lactating women and children were the major beneficiaries of this camp, the IGAR(S) said.
The people received consultation, medicines and laboratory services, the IGAR(S) said, adding that the camp was enriched by talks on awareness and precautions for seasonal diseases and importance of personal hygiene and sanitation.
