In an action that will stand testimony to the fact that inner calmness and peaceful minds lead to outer dynamism and larger social good, a group of Art of Living Manipur volunteers on Tuesday reached out to help the elders of Langol Old Age Home by spending time with the residents and donating ration items.
“We have completed the Happiness Programme of the Art of Living and it has empowered us to become more productive and constructive individuals. We felt like doing something that will make a difference to the lives of the needy. So we all came together to pool in whatever we could and shred it with the residents of the Home,” Lt Col IJ Singh said.
“Apart from making the mind stress-free, the Art of Living programme also sensitizes people to taking more responsibilities and living a life of giving. When we got to know that this old-age home is running without official support and on the donations from the public, the group decided to visit the Home and do whatever we could do. The group did it as an expression of their inner joy,” explains Brahmachari Dixon, Programme Coordinator and Faculty of the Art of Living.
The Art of Living keeps taking up such activities from time to time. Today’s contribution was done under the Art of Living Manipur’s ongoing Anouba Yakairol campaign which seeks to spread wisdom about stress-free living and help people cope with challenges of life.
Spending quality time with the residents, the group shared valuable health tips and moments of encouragement and inspiration with the elders living in the Home. They also promised to come again and again to do whatever they could individually and collectively, as well.
