In continuation of its efforts to reach out to the people of remote villages, devoid of education, sports facilities and to tackle their security related issues, Assam Rifles under Indian Army organised an interaction with village authorities and heads of 10 remote villages at Sendra in Bishnupur district on Monday.
Held as an open forum for the village authorities, the interaction began with the Army appreciating villagers for maintaining peace and stability.
The interaction focussed on security related issues in the area and coordination required with CSOs and village heads. People were also made aware about ongoing Remal Cyclone alert alongwith the precautions they need to take in case of excessive rainfall and in case of an emergency, how they can contact the nearby Army columns for support.
The interaction culminated with the Indian Army encouraging the village heads to steer the youth towards education, sports and societal development. Village Heads were also asked to keep the locals informed about security measures adopted by security forces and they must exercise restraint to maintain peace and stability in the area.
These efforts of the Indian Army aim to foster a sense of community involvement towards ensuring a safe environment for the residents of these villages in Manipur.
