Security forces also recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from Ushoipokpi Makha Sangomsang near the forest office on the eastern side of the NH-102 on Friday.
Acting on a reliable information that some unknown armed miscreants have hidden some arms in the said area, a combined team of Special Operation Group (SOG) Thoubal along with COB Lilong 33 AR, led by Add SP (Ops)/TBL assisted by OC/CDO, TBL and OC Lilong PS under the supervision of SP/TBL launched a massive search operation at the aforesaid area at 2.40pm.
On searching the area properly, the teams found the undernoted articles and seized one SLR Bearing Regn. No. 15131096, five SLR magazines and three Mortar Bomb 51 mm HE, LOT No. 927A KF5 09, LOT No. 443A KF2 06 and LOT No. 443A KF2 06 respectively at 3.15 pm.
The search operation was conducted from 2.40 pm and continued till 4 pm. The seized items are being handed over to OC Lilong PS for taking necessary action.
