Arms and ammunition were recovered by an extensive search operation conducted in the general areas of Nambol Oinam, Nambol Naorem and Mantha Ching by a combined team on Sunday.
The combined team consists of a CDO team from Bishnupur led by P Sanjoy Singh MPS (CDO-1) assisted by SI S Kishorjit Singh, HC O Jayenta Singh and Hav. no. 1711685 A. Johnson Singh under the overall supervision of Ksh Ravikumar Singh IPS SP/Bpr, Amarjit Lamabam MPS Addl SP (Ops) Bishnupur.
During the said search at Oinam Yumpham/Oksoi around 7.10 am, one carton box was found and on opening the said cartoon box the following items were found. One 7.65 mm pistol marked as Made in USA with two magazines, eight H.E grenade No. 36, two Chinese hand grenades, one Kenwood hand held set bearing No. B0983245 with an antenna and one medical kit.5 was detected.
The mentioned arm, grenades, WT set and medical kit which were suspected to be hidden by militants were seized at 8.45 am by observing formalities and handed over to Nambol Police Station for further necessary action.
Meanwhile, combing and search operation was carried out based on reliable information from 33 AR (F-Coy) Maibam Lotpa Ching which was further corroborated from our own source regarding the presence of militants.
