AR, TYU organise medical camp in Churachandpur

A total of 427 patients comprising 194 men, 130 women and 103 children were diagnosed and treated during the medical camp.

The Loktak Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in collaboration with Tuikoul Youth Union conducted a mega medical camp at Changpikot village of Churachandpur district on Saturday.

The medical camp was conducted to provide required free medicines and medical treatment to the people of Changpikot village and the surrounding areas where requisite medical facilities are not available. The camp was attended by villagers from Changpikot village and adjoining areas of Churachandpur district in large numbers.

A well constituted team of medical staff under Assam Rifles Medical Officer (ARMO) and General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) of the battalion along with a Medicine Specialist and Paediatrician from Churachandpur district Hospital conducted the medical camp.

A total of 427 patients comprising 194 men, 130 women and 103 children were diagnosed and treated during the medical camp. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted and emphasis on importance of hygiene and sanitation was explained by all the doctors and medical staff to the villagers for better living standard.

The local populace of Changpikot village and the adjoining areas appreciated the initiative of Loktak Battalion of Assam Riffles for organising the free medical camp.
