The Assam Rifles reiterated that the allegations which have been repeated are baseless and unfounded.

The public relation officer, HQ IGAR South has issued a clarification in connection with a news article with the headline, ‘Myanmar militants used for proxy war in Manipur: IM’ published by a local daily, while stating that the allegations are baseless and unfounded.

The article mentions that Assam Rifles (AR) and the para-regiment are colluding with Kuki militant groups against NSCN and that AR, Territorial Army, and para-regiment facilitated free entry and exit of Kuki militants, stated a rebuttal issued by lieutenant colonel, staff officer, Public Relations and Media.

The article further states that Indian security forces are raining bombs in Myanmar using drones, it mentioned. These allegations were already mentioned in the press release of GPRN dated May 15, 2024, it stated.

Assam Rifles has already rebutted the allegations and the same was published in other media houses, it stated. It is reiterated that these allegations which have been repeated are baseless and unfounded, it added.
