AR organise meet with CSOs and localities, provide medical aid

The importance of joint efforts of Assam Rifles and CSOs in maintaining law and order and commitment of Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and security in Manipur was deliberated upon during the interaction, IGAR(S) stated.

The Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR(South), organised Assam Rifles and CSOs meet at Andro Company Operating Base at Imphal East district, Manipur Friday.

Upwards of 100 representatives of All Andro Youth Club and its subsidiary clubs, All Andro Meira Paibis and club representatives from Uchon and Huikap localities participated in the CSO meet, the IGAR(S) said in a release.

During the meet, a healthy discussion on security related issues and problems faced by local populace with respect to prevailing Internal Security situation in Manipur was carried out. Representatives from each sect shared their views and commitments towards improvement of the situation as well as restoration of peace in the state, the IGAR(S) stated.

The importance of joint efforts of Assam Rifles and CSOs in maintaining law and order and commitment of Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and security in Manipur and extending all out support for progress and prosperity in the region was deliberated upon during the interaction, it further stated.

The representatives suggested more such meets in the future where one gets the platform to update and share their perspectives and views. Such collaborative efforts can play a key role in aligning efforts for the cause of lasting peace & prosperity in Manipur.

The Assam Rifles also provided medical aid to ‘SHOISHOB’, a foundation for children that provides free education and lunch to underprivileged children on Friday.

Kambiakdik, Associate Professor, Department of Paediatrics, RIMSH, Imphal assisted by the Medical Officers of Unit Hospital, Churachandpur Battalion provided consultation, medicines and first aid box. A total of 69 children and school staff were benefited by this event, the IGAR(S) said.
