In a heartwarming gesture, the Assam Rifles distributed essential items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in Bongmol village, Tengnoupal District, Manipur on December 10.
The event was held at the village community hall and witnessed a large turnout of IDPs who rejoiced at the much-needed assistance. Assam Rifles Soldiers handed over the relief materials which included rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, sugar, and other essential items to the representatives of the IDP community.
Representatives of Assam Rifles spoke on the occasion, highlighting the commitment of this security force towards ensuring the well-being of the people of Manipur, assuring the IDPs that the security forces will continue to provide all possible assistance to them in their times of need. The event witnessed the participation of 143 IDPs, including 45 children and 38 women.
The distribution of essential items was part of the ongoing efforts by the Assam Rifles to reach out to the IDPs in Tengnoupal District to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent ethnic conflict.
Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted a Health Checkup Cum Medical Camp at Khudengthabi village, Tengnoupal district on December 9.
In continuation of its efforts to improve mutual trust and maintain peace and harmony in the region, a Medical camp was organised for locals of Khudengthabi village. A total of 104 villagers including women and children were examined during the medical camp.
Special focus was given on educating the villagers about antenatal care for expecting mothers and paediatric diseases and ways to prevent them.
