AR conducts medical camp for displaced people in Senapati

A medical camp was conducted by the Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles at Hengbung in Senapati district on Sunday for displaced people from Imphal valley.

The Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), conducted a medical camp at Hengbung in Senapati district on Sunday for displaced people from Imphal valley.

The displaced people living in the relief camps were provided with medicine and preventive and curative treatment by the medical team under ARMO at the camp, according to a release.  A medical checkup of over 300 people, including those residing at relief camps, was carried out, it stated.

The AR also provided immediate critical medical assistance to two local youths injured in a road mishap with a four-wheeler vehicle along National Highway 02, it said, adding that they sustained injuries to their heads and were brought to the Assam Rifles Unit Hospital at Maram, where they were provided medical treatment.

The AR also conducted a meeting with the presidents of the students’ unions of the Senapati district on May 21 at Maram to discuss various issues and challenges faced by the students, youths, and locals in the Senapati district and to continue maintaining peace and harmony in the region, it stated.

The representatives of various student unions agreed to extend their support to the Assam Rifles in all the people-centric initiatives and in addressing various challenges. Representatives of ATSUM, ANSAM, Mao Students Union, Maram Students Union, Zeliangrong Students Union, and Thangal Students Union attended the meeting, it added.
