AR celebrates Mother’s Day

The Thoubal and Nambol Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles commemorated the occasion with mothers of Thoubal and Oinam Relief camp, Nambol, a release stated.

The Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) on the occasion of Mother’s Day, paid homage to the resilience and nurturing essence of mothers in the Thoubal, Kamjong and Bishnupur Districts of Manipur, stated a release issued by IGAR (South).

The Thoubal and Nambol Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles commemorated the occasion with mothers of Thoubal and Oinam Relief camp, Nambol, it stated. A friendly interaction was carried out with the elderly women of the area and the relief camp, it mentioned. The event marked the cake cutting ceremony followed by refreshment as a mark of gratitude to the selfless service of the Mothers, it added.

At Kamjong, Assam Rifles organised a High Tea event in the border villages of Kongkhan, Kamtong, and Nampisha. The event concluded with refreshments and engaging conversations with the local community, it stated.

Informative sessions were also conducted focusing on women empowerment and the pivotal role of mothers in both family and society. These discussions aimed to educate and inspire, highlighting the significance of women’s contributions and the importance of recognising their role in community development, it stated.

Earlier on Friday, a drawing competition was organised for the students of Dr. Colvin School, Haolenphai. The event aimed to celebrate creativity and provide a platform for budding artists to highlight their talents, it stated.

The drawing competition underscored a commitment toward community engagement through pencil and colour and support for educational initiatives in Haolenphai Village, it stated. Through this initiative, on the theme ‘My Dream World’, an aim to connect with young minds and also to help channelise their energy in a positive manner towards the prayers and prosperity of the nations and their individual development was achieved, it said. The event concluded with all participants and attendees enjoying refreshments, it added.

It further stated that Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) also organised a football match with Sendra Youth Club at Sendra,Bishnupur District on Saturday.  

Assam Rifles under the theme ‘Fighting Drugs through Sports’ took the initiative of bringing youth together by organising a football match. A total of 15 players from neighbouring villages participated in the match. The match was organised to inspire youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The event was also aimed at identifying local talent to motivate them to join Indian Army/Assam Rifles, it added.
