Loktak Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (S) in a joint operation with Manipur Police apprehended an insurgent of proscribed group PLA in Moirang, Bishnupur district on Saturday, stated a release issued by IGAR (South).
Based on a tip-off, troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur Police launched an operation which led to the apprehension, it stated.
The apprehended insurgent was handed over to Moirang Police Station for further investigation, it added.
Meanwhile, Khoupum Battalion under the aegis of IGAR(S) in collaboration with JNIMS,Imphal conducted a psychological counselling workshop for locals at N Khunou, Bishnupur district on Sunday, it further stated.
The workshop was organised to spread awareness on various aspects of mental health and ways to handle stress related to studies, profession and social aspects, it stated. The workshop was attended by locals and troops of Assam Rifles.
In the meantime, Churachandpur Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (S) organised a recruitment rally awareness camp at Tuitumm Khongkhai, Churachandpur district on Sunday, it stated.
The camp was organised to spread awareness amongst the youths and locals about Assam Rifles Meritorious Sports Person Recruitment Rally 2022. During the interaction, youths were encouraged to explore career opportunities in the Armed Forces, it mentioned.
Village authorities and local Youth Association members attended the event and expressed their gratitude for such informative events, it added.
