Following the terror attack by suspected Kuki militants towards Meitei villages at Pallel on Friday, four village volunteers from Bijoypur under Kakching Police Station were arrested by Assam Rifles early Saturday.

According to sources, the arrested village volunteers were reportedly handed over to Pallel Police Station later in the day.

They were reportedly guarding the village, fearing another attack by the Kuki militants, when the Assam Rifles, who were carrying out an operation in the area presumably in connection with Friday’s incident, arrested them.
