Appeal made for safety of healthcare workers

Forum condemned the attacks by unknown miscreants at the HIV/AIDS core composition project office in Churachandpur on May 4 and 5.

MACS Partner NGO’s Forum (MPNF) on Friday appealed to the authorities concerned to ensure safety and security of the healthcare workers during times of conflict.

The forum condemned the attacks by unknown miscreants at the HIV/AIDS core composition project office in Churachandpur on May 4 and 5 following the communal crisis that broke out in the state on May 3, as per a release.

Another office of the same project was looted and set ablaze by unknown miscreants again on May 17, resulting in loss of various important documents related with the project, it mentioned.

MPNF condemned the mindless activity and lamented that the same has caused hindrance to the initiatives taken to curb HIV/AIDS in the State, it stated.

The forum urged the relevant state departments to provide security service at the healthcare institutes so as to avoid such untoward incidents in future and further appealed to those concerned not to carry out such acts ever again, it added.
