The Spear Corps of Indian Army organised an anti-malarial fumigation drive in a relief camp at S Kawtlian in Churachandpur district, Manipur on Saturday.
This camp houses 137 internally displaced men, women and children who have been living in temporary structures with inadequate facilities since the onset of the Manipur crisis. With the impending rainy season, worsening the mosquito and insect menace and posing severe health risks, this fumigation initiative was a timely and much-needed intervention.
The effort was highly appreciated by the locals and IDPs, who have requested similar support in other areas.
The Indian Army remains committed to the people and will continue to undertake initiatives aimed at improving living standards in these relief camps.
