Anti-Corruption Cell was reconstituted by the Manipur government in the Office of Chief Minister on March 24, 2022. Governor La Ganesan announced the re-launching of the Anti-Corruption Cell in the Office of the Chief Minister, Manipur during the first session of the 12th state Legislative Assembly session which started on March 24. Here are 10 quick facts about the Anti Corruption Cell as per the government order.

1. The main responsibility of the Anti-Corruption Cell will be to receive complaints of corruption against public servants from the general public.

2. The complaints can be made through phone call, messages, written complaint and through the ‘CM da Haisi’ platform.

3. The Officer-in-charge of the ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ will be an officer, not below the rank of a Joint Secretary to the State Government.

4. The Officer-in-charge of the ‘Anti-Corruption Cell will be assisted by two officers – one not below the rank of Deputy Secretary to the State Government, and the other not below the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police.

5. The officer of the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police and above shall be attached to the ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ from the Vigilance & Department

6. The government can attach officials and staff from any department, from time to time, to assist the ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’.

7. The ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’, upon receipt of the complaint, will examine the complaint and upon examination, it may decide to gather additional details and information from the complainant or other sources or if the complaint is deemed actionable, then the matter may be referred to the Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Department or any Competent Authority for appropriate action.

8. The ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ shall deal with the complaints received, as per the guidelines issued by the Central Vigilance Commission, from time to time, the order added.

9. The Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Department or the Competent Authority, upon receipt of the complaint from the ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ will initiate necessary action within 24 hours.

10. The Cell will maintain proper records of all complaints received and action taken on each complaint, and submit regular reports to the Principal Secretary/ Secretary to the Chief Minister.
