AMWJU urged to allow non-regularised employees of DDK, AIR to become members

DD News Assistant News Editor (Imphal) Anilkumar said that stringers and non-regularised employees and journalists of DD News, Imphal and AIR Imphal are being ignored for the benefits that other journalists, who are AMWJU members enjoy from both government and the union.

Assistant news editor of DD News, Imphal Yengkhom Anilkumar has appealed All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) to allow stringers and non-regularised employees including journalists to become members of the union.

He made the appeal while speaking to the media on the sidelines of extending financial assistance to one of the DD News stringer, Dhirajit who has been bedridden due to failure of both his kidney for the last few months. Due to bad financial condition, he has been staying at his home though doctor advised him for kidney transplantation.

Anilkumar said that stringers and non-regularised employees and journalists of DD News, Imphal and AIR Imphal are being ignored for the benefits that other journalists, who are AMWJU members enjoy from both government and the union. He also expressed his gratitude towards local MLA Karam Shyam, AMWJU, NGOs and other WhatsApp group for extending financial assistance for Dhirajit.

The financial assistance from DDK News was handed over to the mother of Dhirajit, Laishram Indubala at their residence located at Langthabal Awang Leikai by editor of DD News, Imphal, N Nando. Assistant news editor of DD News, Th Biswajit, stringers and other staffs of regional news also took part in the handing over of financial assistance.
