AMTDGF formed, condemns Manipur government

The Manipur government was condemned for “neglecting the grievances" of hill districts of the state.

The All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum (AMTDGF) on Saturday condemned the state government for “neglecting the grievances" of hill districts of Manipur and announced the formation of the forum to address grievances of hill districts of Manipur.

In a release AMTDGF accused the state government for neglecting the grievances of the Hills District of Manipur, stating that a public meeting was convened on Saturday at Tribal Research Institute, Imphal. The meeting chaired by Hesho Lorho as chairman and Mark Prou as the recording secretary was attended by leaders and representatives from hill districts of Manipur, it added.

It informed that the meeting decided to form a forum which can usher development and address the grievances of the hill districts of the state. It continued that the forum ‘All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum’ was formed with its head office at Imphal.

The release further stated that the meeting also appointed the executive councils of the forum for a period of three years with immediate effect. The executive councils include Hesho Lorho as the president, Tongsin Rungwar and Seihkosat Kipgen as the vice presidents, and Gangonglung Khumba as the general secretary along with other executive members, it added.
