In connection with the observance ceremony, a blood donation camp is held where people of the state will donate their blood, he said.

The release appealed to the people of the state not to indulge in any kind of celebration as a mark of respect to departed souls. It also sought support from people of the state for the observance ceremony.

The release recalled that removal of the inner line permit system in the year 1950 led to the surge in non-locals entering the state uncontrollably. Condemning such acts of the then government, the union had launched a “Go back foreigners” movement where two people had lost their life in the agitation and many got injured.

The state government had reimplemented ILPs in 2020 as a result of the continuous movement launched by various sections of the state. However, the government is unable to implement it effectively as the number of migrants coming into the state is still continuing, it added while assuring that AMSU will continue to fight for the protection and preservation of indigenous people of the state.
