The All Manipur Elementary School Teachers’ Association (AMESTA) Zone-II on Wednesday appealed to the authority concerned to draw attention towards the reported inconveniences caused due to keeping of two Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) in Imphal East Zone-II and appealed to keep only M Premchandra Singh as their ZEO.

He also alleged that although Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) appointed many Manipur Education Service (MES) officers from among the qualified ones, they have been busy occupying and grabbing posts among themselves. The association takes this very seriously, he added.

He continued that the state government had issued an order for appointing M Premchandra Singh as their new ZEO but the previous ZEO, Laishram Mohinikumar still remains at the office till date. Keeping two ZEOs has put a lot of obstacles among the staff and teachers, he further said, adding the state government should consider the inconveniences and vacate the previous ZEO
