ALPOA irked by works minister’s statement

On February 25, Works Minister Govindas stated that the affected landowners along National Highways are linked with mafia, syndicates and demanding compensations, ALPOA stated.

The Affected Land and Property Owners Association (ALPOA), National Highway-137 (Tamenglong-Mahur road) on Wednesday alleged Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam of misleading the members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, and expressed their unhappiness over his statements made on the floor of the House.

On February 25, Works Minister Govindas stated that the affected landowners along National Highways are linked with mafia, syndicates and demanding compensations, ALPOA stated. 

ALPOA has no knowledge of such mafia or syndicates and is compelled to issue a clarification. ALPOA president Gambui stated that the authority may take up stringent action if there is such a nexus between the said syndicates and the organisation. Works minister may have been misled, he added.
