The All Manipur Hawkers Association on Monday announced that newspaper hawkers in the state will cease work on August 25 as a part of 40th foundation day celebration of the association.
A release issued by the association on Monday stated that the foundation day will be celebrated at Manipur Press Club while adhering to Covid SOPs.
Pensions will be distributed to the hawkers who have retired as hawkers and floral tributes will be paid to those who passed away, it stated.
It mentioned that a blood donation camp will also be organised as a part of the foundation day, and all those who extended help to the hawkers during the pandemic will be acknowledged at the occasion.
The hawkers will cease their work on the day for successful celebration of the foundation day, the release, it stated. The association also requested all its members to be present at the foundation day, it added.
