The All Inpui Students' Union (AISU) extended heartfelt congratulations to major Shem Khumba, son of Kahokuiba Khumba of Karuangmuan-I Village, Haochong sub-division, Noney district, on being promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. 

He is the first commissioned officer from the Inpui Naga Community to be promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Indian Army. He was commissioned in 2008; he is also a recipient of the Gallantry Award in 2020 apart from holding other commendation cards. 

The All Inpui Students' Union (AISU) also wished him that he will continue to soar higher in future and bring more laurels for Inpui people. “May the Almighty God continue to bless him in his future endeavours,” stated All Inpui Students' Union president Jesse Bariam.
