Speaking to media at the Aimol Custom and Culture Development Organisation’s office, chairman of the Organisation, Bongte Athoi Aimol highlighted the significance of ‘Cheitharol Kumbaba’ and said the chronicle covers Manipur’s history and provides a detailed record of the historical events that occurred during the reign of the then kings of Manipur.

He asserted that various historical fragments of the Aimol community during the reign of King Meidingu Paikhomba (1666-1697 AD) and Meidingu Garbaniwaj (1709-1748 AD) are recorded in the chronicle. He maintained that the same indicates that the community is one of the oldest tribes living in the state since time immemorial.
