Social activist Irom Singhajit Singh, who is the brother of well-known rights activist Irom Sharmila, passed away on Tuesday.

Late Singhajit was associated with Irom Sharmila’s fight to abolish the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act 1958. During Sharmila's 16-year fast, Singhajit often represented her before the media and other activities.
