A team of Imphal West commando (CDO) around 8.15 am on Tuesday arrested one active cadre of a proscribed underground outfit for his involvement in cases of extortion and threatening of government officials.
According to sources, the Imphal West CDO team under the supervision of additional SP Ops, Imphal West M Amit arrested one active cadre of the proscribed major UG outfit namely Koijam Sunder Meitei alias Dabi, 26, son of K Shyam Meitei from Khewa Phurju Sagolmang, Imphal East. He was staying at the residence of his father-in-law Mayengbam Gunamani, at Top Siphai Thongkhong Luxmi Bazaar, the sources said.
Sources mentioned that Sunder was involved in extortion and threatening government officials. The team seized one mobile handset with two Airtel SIM cards from his possession, it continued.
The arrested person along with the seized items was handed over to the Wangoi police station for further necessary action, the sources added.
