AAMSU, AMSU commence blood donation drive

The AAMSU and AMSU organised a blood donation drive to help the injured victims of violence in Manipur.

The All Assam Manipuri Students’ Union (AAMSU) along with the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) on Friday started a blood donation drive with a blood donation camp held at RIMS Hospital, Lamphel, Imphal West.

A release by AAMSU stated that AAMSU along with AMSU commenced its blood donation drive with a donation camp held under the banner ‘Kathoklasi Ee Ema Leipakki Damak’ (Let’s sacrifice our blood for our motherland) at RIMS Hospital. The blood donation drive was organised to aid the injured victims, it mentioned.

It maintained that the union along with AMSU had been organising various relief material distribution and donation drive for the displaced and the injured victims at various relief camps in the state. During the drive the union distributed various essential items including food items, clothes and essential items for the students, it continued.

“With the loss of countless innocent lives in the hands of the external force still continuing unabated, the way the Union Government and the state government have handled the conflict is quite deplorable. The conflict which erupted on May 3 is still not showing signs of slowing down to date,” it read.
