Police on Monday seized Heroin powder weighing approximately 9.970 kg, including the weight of the plastic containers, from a truck at Lilong Chajing, Imphal West.

According to a release from the Police Control Room, the drugs were brought in 250 soap plastic cases.
A mob attempted to burn the seized drugs at the spot and as it turned violent, police resorted to firing tear gas shells to disperse the mob in which two police personnel were injured.

The police said four arms and 50 rounds of ammunition were recovered in operations conducted in the fringe areas of the valley.
Till date, police and security forces have destroyed 305 bunkers in both hill and valley areas.
