77th Naga Independence Day celebrated in Tamenglong

Hoisting of the Naga National Flag by the chief guest and offering of silent prayers in honour of the martyrs marked the Naga Independence Day celebration in Tamenglong.

The 77th Naga Independence Day was observed at Town Centre Church, Tamenglong Headquarters on Monday in the presence of speaker Tatar Hoho, NSCN/GPRN Salem Yang Gangmei.

The programme began with the hoisting of the Naga National Flag by the chief guest and offering of silent prayers in honour of the martyrs.

The speech of ato kilonser Th Muivah, Council HQs, Hebron was read out by additional secretary GPRN Khupou Gonmei.

The Naga Independence Day celebration was attended by Joint Tribes Council Leaders, Town Centre Churches leaders, Village Authority Chairman Council (VACC), The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) representative, social leaders and society leaders.

As part of solidarity with the Naga Independence Day, all shops and businesses at Tamenglong bazaar were closed from 6 am to 12 noon.
