Thoubal District Police registered a total number of 500 cases during the year 2022 from January 1 to December 29 and arrested 30 cadres of proscribed groups, according to an official report by the Thoubal District Police.
According to the police, the cases have been registered in six police stations under Thoubal District Police. Of the total cases registered, chargesheet have been filed in as many as 121 cases and 89 cases were returned to first report (FR).
As per the report, Thoubal police arrested 30 cadres of proscribed groups which included 16 cadres of RPF/PLA, one overground worker of PLA, one cadre of Prepak (pro), four cadres each of KYKL, two cadres of KCP (MC) and two gang members.
The district police also seized numerous firearms, including seven 9MM pistol, one each of .32 and 7.65MM pistol, 15 hand grenade, 138 live bullets of different guns, nine detonator, three wireless detonator reviver, one each of remote control, walkie talkie and 9 volt battery.
They also arrested eight individuals under National Security Act (NSA) and 39 people under NDPS, PIT (prevention of illicit traffic).
As per the district police report on drug seizure, they seized 127.47 kg of brown sugar; 2183.3 gram of Heroin number 4; 133 kg of kani; 8804 WY tablets weighing 8125 gram; 12,963 bottles of illegal cough syrups and 134 litre of morphinated liquid. and 49 cases under NDPS Act were registered at different police stations of Thoubal district and 65 drug peddlers were arrested.
Thoubal district Police also arrested 326 bootleggers and seized 3,664 litres of local made liquor, 24 foreign liquor, 27 beer bottles and collected a total fine of Rs 1,74,510.
The district police also managed to nab 10 vehicle lifters and recovered numerous stolen vehicles. The recovered vehicles included three Maruti Alto cars, one Mahindra XUV 500, one Hyundai i20 car, three Hyundai Creta cars, four honda activa, three honda dio, one each of Suzuki swift, KTM bike and pulsar 220 bike and three TVS NTORQ.
