27 kg opium seized, two arrested

The CRPF jawans seized 27 kg opium at around 11:10 am during frisking and checking at Kangvai junction, Churachandpur, Manipur.

A team of 27 Battalion CRPF seized 27.2 kg of suspected opium and apprehended two drug smugglers from Kangvai junction, Churachandpur district on Friday.

The arrested persons have been identified as one Md Abdul Karib, 35 and Md Kabir Ahmed, 32, both from Kwakta Ward Number V, Bishnupur district which is adjacent to Kangvai.

It is reported that the seizures were made by the CRPF jawans at around 11:10 am during frisking and checking at Kangvai junction from a four-wheeler vehicle (Baleno) bearing registration number MN01AS 7487.

Later, the seizures along with the apprehended have been handed over to the Churachandpur Police Station for further necessary actions.
