Commemorating the contributions made during Nupi Lal of Manipur, the 24th death anniversary of Ima Rajani, who is one of the freedom fighters of Nupi Lal, was held at Sagolband Tera Loukham Leirak, Imphal West on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, secretary of steering committee of Nupi Lal Memorial Association, Longjamba Meitei Netaji, said in 1980 the first Nupi Lal was observed. On the day Ima Rajani narrated the whole incidents that occurred during the Nupi Lal.
Ima Rajani also released a book on the same day on Nupi Lal that has the entire information related to Nupi Lal in presence of the then chief minister of Manipur Rishang Keishing. She also distributed the book at various institutions, he added.
While releasing the book she cautioned the people that history might be manipulated if not documented with real facts and due to the reason she released the book, said Longjamba.
As a part of the function floral tributes were paid on the photograph of the Ima Rajani.
