160 BPL families get LPG cylinders, stoves, consumer cards under PMUY

PMUY benefits distributed to families living below poverty line at Wahengbam Leikai Community, Sagolband, Imphal West, Manipur.

MLA RK Imo Singh of Sagolband Constituency on Monday distributed cooking gas cylinders, stoves and domestic gas consumer cards to as many as 160 families living below poverty line (BPL) at Wahengbam Leikai Community to those living under ward number 8 of the constituency.

Addressing the function, RK Imo Singh said to ensure that benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana are provided properly in the constituency, distribution of LPG, stove and gas consumer cards has been conducted from place to place in the constituency.

The state and central government had launched various welfare schemes with an objective to extend some support. To make them avail such benefit by legitimate beneficiaries of the constituency, all possible steps would be taken up, the MLA said.

The purpose of conducting the ‘Go to Leikai’ campaign since the last few months is to figure and find people who are yet to receive such schemes, the minister said. It was such a productive camp as many people were able to enrol in various schemes such as Chief Ministergi Hakshel Gi Tengbang, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana etc., the MLA stated.
