As many as 15 persons imprisoned at Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa by nine police stations in connection with cases related to drug, extortion, stolen/theft, blackmail, attempt to murder and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act were handed over to the Committee On Tribal Unity (CoTU) on Thursday.
They were handed over to the chairman of CoTU after being released by officer in-charge of G Sapermeina Police Station, as per sources. The 15 persons had been lodged at Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa in connection with cases registered by Police Stations of Churachandpur, Singhat, Kangpokpi, Sapermeina, Kakching, Patsoi, Lamshang, Lamphel and Narcotics & Affairs of Border (NAB) Police Station.
The 15 prisoners are Jamgoulen Haokip, 33, son of Letthang Haokip of Kingkin; Lunminthang Haokip, 33, son of (L) Holkholet Haokip of Kholmun, PS: CCpur, Lhunkhopao Baite, 33, son of Tongkhoson Baite of Sajal, Paominlal Misao, 23, son of (L) Thangjang Misao of T Tonglhang, Shokhogin Haokip, 46, son of Otkhulun Haokip of K Bethel village; Seiminlal Haokip alias Lalboi, 34, son of Seikhomang Haokip of Laijang village; Thangkholen Haokip, 42, son of Paojatong Haokip of Chikim village.
The remaining prisoners are Lunminsang Haokip, 22, son of Seikholun haokip of Khaopiyang; Thongkhohao haokip, 42, son of Thongkholet Haokip of H Champhai village, Satminlun Tuboi, 24, son of Thangboi Tuboi of Saikul Bazar; T Lunkhomang Haokip, 37, son of Thangjangam Haokip of New Boljang; Chungkhomang Kipgen, 41, son of (L) Paolam Kipgen of Sinam Khaithong village; Nehminthang Kipgen, 38, son of Paojalet Kipgen of Zalenbung village, Letminching, 46, son of Lunthang Kipgen of Phaihel and Len David Suantak, 20, son of Khuplal Suantak of Joljam.
